Comic you will never sell

I think sometimes as people we don't really fathom what the word 'never' means.

:shy:

I know I fathom it better as a chicken. :baiting:

Turkey.

As an extension, we also don't fathom the phrase "till death do us part".

More hobby specific, people also have trouble with "grail", "commodity" and "undervalued/overvalued".

If you want to get forum specific I would go with "holding your tongue".

I would honestly have a tough time selling ANY of my SA/BA keys.

Moderns sure, make an offer ;) But stuff from the 60's/70's that are considered "keys" I would have a real hard time parting with.

If I had a gun to my head or fell on really hard times, the absolute LAST stuff that would go would be my DD's.

Also, "ignore", "argument" and "butthurt".

I think I can equivocate all of the above into the word 'patience'.

I'd sell everything but the last two:

Tick # 1, signed my Ben Edlund.

And Wolverine # 1 (ongoing), signed and personalized to me by Al Williamson.

Everything else could be replaced, so the true value is in the memories.

Another one is probably my Superman 75, signed (by mistake) by Jon Bogdanove. He didn't work on the book, but was in the long line of Superman artists at Comicfest '93 and happened to give me some of the best advice (personally or professionally) that I've ever received. For that, I'm grateful.

'scuse my French, but that's awesome!

Yes it is. Hopefully, Steve has instructed his people to get it to me when he croaks.

Steve happens to be my favourite adult male name. I call dibs.

But it clashes with the rest of your collection. Green and yellow is a fashion faux pas, and when I think of you I think "fashionista".

My long term goal is to whittle my collection down to a dozen keepers.....which I've got a good start on. As a realist, I know that old age will probably cost me all or most those. At this point, the last one I'd hope to sell, if at all, would probably be my VG+ copy of Thunda #1 autographed by Frank Frazetta. It's a beautiful example of his signature, done in the 80's when he would still put his first and last name on stuff. It would be almost impossible to replace. GOD BLESS....

I would never part with one of my ASM 1 that I bought in 79, instead of using the money to help pay for college I bought ASM 1. In 1980 I went into the military.

I would also never part with any of my ASM 14's or IM 55's. I still have my first comic my grandmother bought me.

I can't really say never, since when I'm 70+ (assuming I make it that far) I imagine things might change, but I still have a the first books I ever bought off the rack in '75, plus a handful of old single digit ASMs my dad bought for me after I started collecting that I have no intention of parting with.
