Hoarding keys???

63 posts in this topic

Noticed alot of talk on this subject in the Hulk#181 post and was wondering if any of you have massive hoardes of keys out there in your personal collections. I have a few lower grade Hulk#181's and about eight high grade copies of New Gods#1(I really don't know why?). I also have about four copies of Giant Sized X-Men#1 in various grades, not huge stuff, but kinda fun to own.

Shock and surprise us all with your hoarding skills, pictures would be even cooler. Love to see a picture of a full long box of high grade Hulk#181's sitting in a collection(good as porn in my books, lol)

i remember when valiant first started and books were selling for huge multiples. so does anyone remember "american comics?" or something like that? U could order new books from them for a fat deiscount. So i picked up like 15 copies of Magnus #12 and Rai #1 and Bloodshot #1. Did a show in Boston, went around before the show started, saw dealers asking $75 for Magnus #12. Sold all 15 copies to a dealer for $40 each b4 the show even opened. Ah, the "good ol days......." lol.

In terms of bronze, I remember having multiples of Spider-Woman #1, Eternals #1, Dazzler #1, Peter Parker #1-10.

I've got around 25 copies of some Daredevil issue (272 maybe?) that had the first appearance of Shotgun, a villain that I just knew was going to be as popular as the Punisher. Plus I've got 20 or so copies of Secret Wars 1. And far too many Angel Love #1's.

I am a hoarder of Iron Fist and MOKF books from the 70's.

Don't know why exactly, I have never really had any intension to sell them for a profit (MOKF anyone? grin.gif ). But when ever I see nice HG copys of the books I think to myself "hmmm that book maybe nicer than the best copy I have" and I buy it. shocked.gif

Yeah I know, its a problem/addiction, but at least I can admit it to myself. grin.gif

I have an old friend who bought up all and any valients(he spent litterally thousand of dollars, has somthing like fifty to one hundred of all the first twenty issues of each series) he could when they we're worth a fortune, the whole time telling me and everyone who would listen that these comics would be paying for his first house in ten years... Well, ten years later, the guy has a rented one bedroom apartment and a whole lott'a boxes of .... Ouch.

He did buy like three hundred copies of Spiderman#298 through #305 though, so maybe he might be able to do somthing with that, who knows.
