DiceX reviews the new Amazing Spider-Man movie...

Why are the villains always so bad. The villains need to be awesome for people to love the movie. I wanted to like The Lizard but it was just meh

And there was what? One fight and it was completely forgettable.

The funny thing is everyone I know that seen this in the show are not into comics and the ones into comics are first seeing it now on rental.

I watched it today. All I kept thinking is this movie is trying too hard to be another Twilight movie. Did this really have to be made? I couldn't connect with any of the characters. The whole film seemed mediocre. Like they put a lot into it just to make a movie.

Dice, what superhero films have you enjoyed?

The best...

Iron Man

Avengers

Dark Knight

X-Men First Class

Watchmen

Superman I and II

Spider Man I and II

Kickass

Blade

The Crow

The Rocketeer

Hell, I even loved Flash Gordon and Howard the Duck.

Amazing Spider-Man sucked.

To cap off the Spider-Man movie, I did a double feature and rented Prometheus. Counting the free rental, both movies cost me $1.25.

After watching Prometheus I feel like I was ripped off. I couldn't have been more disappointed in it.

I'm going to go slit my wrists now.

Just stop watching movies; apparently there's no pleasing perfectionists like you :baiting:
Did you see Prometheus?

The characters actions and motivations don't make much sense.

I love seeing fans trying to rationalize the movie. I like the fact that it's a thinking movie, but there were way too many wtf moments for me. I was just hazing Dicey.

That just means you don't "get it". :screwy:

I've seen many individual interpretations; I actually appreciate the grander scheme theme but frankly there are also many decisions about plot that looks like Lucas was doing the writing. So hiring pot smoking recruits can be explained, huh? Go ahead, please enlighten me.

Well, it was comic related so I threw it in.

I also liked the Hellboy movies.

What about Constantine?

I've still never seen Constantine, nor have I seen V for Vendetta.

Really? Huh, you should give them a shot. V was ok, but I like Hugo Weaving.

Nice review Dice and I don't think I need to own this DVD.

RedBox will do just fine! :)

I don't remember that much fighting in the earlier ones, either. I do remember quite a bit of blubbering and Aunt May. Am I remembering it wrong?

The Lizard was a negative for me, to be honest. Didn't enjoy that aspect.
