Difficult? didn't it come out at the height of comics. Print runs in the hundreds of thousands?

Probably not the 5th printing... it is likely from much later with much lower print run.

Then, being a 5th printing, almost no one bothered to keep it in top condition.

At the height of comics, recent reprints were worthless.

Fifth print or not, the current 9.8 1st print of MOS 18 has already established a new GPA high for a non signature series: it's at $202.50 with 2 days to go. Last recorded sale was $95.00....prior sales hovering around a respectable $80 range.

I smell monies!

+1

Short term gains for people who are first to market followed by long term pains for those who bought it. ;)

Maybe not, just because it had a high print run, doesn't mean ever single copy will slab a 9.8.

So if Blink is in the new x film does it matter if she appears as the AOA Blink or the regular universe Blink?

Uncanny 316 Newsstand: first Blink

The X-Men Poster Magazine 4 ( pin up? ) or X-Men Alpha 1 Gold?: first A0A Blink.

That and the fact that there are some circulating rumors indicating that Doomsday may be teased in MOS2, possibly be the villain in MOS3 and/or upcoming JLA movie. In fact, there are unsubstantiated rumors that the JLA movie might be 'The Death of Superman' story arc. Doomsday was one occassion where multiple heroes were pretty ineffectual:

After freeing one arm and smashing his way out of his buried vault, the creature went on the rampage in Midwestern America, where he first encountered the Justice League. The Ultimate defeated the entire team of superheroes in a matter of minutes, which in turn attracted the attention of Superman. Most notable is the fact that the creature fought the whole time with literally one hand tied behind his back, yet was still able to lay waste to all opposition and much of the surrounding area. The only Justice Leaguer who could even defend herself against the creature was Maxima. The creature's naming occurred when League member Booster Gold remarked how the rampage resembled "the arrival of Doomsday". The comment reached the broadcast media and led to the creature's accepted name. Five Leaguers, including Superman, combined their energy powers in an attempt to take Doomsday down, but succeeded only in destroying the last of his ancient burial cables, allowing him to use both hands.

Just saw this one on eBay! I just picked up a 9.8 for about $50 a month or two ago!

Is there any reason this is picking up right now or is this a fluke?

Finding it raw at a steal is not too tough. Finding a 9.8 at a steal?....That's a totally different beast.... :gossip:

Bought a MOS 18 on the boards a while ago, the book's condition looked like toilet paper.

lol

The #320 just came up in another thread where we're trying to add to/correct the OSPG list of top copper books. Overstreet defines copper as '84-'92, so B&V didn't make the list. But these years also exclude Grendel & Primer from the list.

Maybe if the book had been printed in black and white. hm
