Well, as we're entering the final month of the readerthon, here are the comics I read in November 2013

War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath 1-2

The mighty Avengers 1- 36

I read 242 comics this month for a total of 2354 comics read in 2013.

I remember setting myself up for a fall last year by trying to get to 2500 comics.

I also remember that the last month wasn't really as pleasant as I wanted it to be, as I was obsessed in reaching that number that reading became a chore instead of a joy.

When I did reach it (around December 20th) I was kinda fed up with comics and thought not to enter the 2013 edition.

But three weeks later I fell off the wagon and joined in anyway. But this time I had no set number to reach, I wouldn't be a slave to the final total and would just read when I felt like it.

Much to my surprise I'm nearing 2500 comics again, and I'll probably reach it again in 2-3 weeks time, but this time there was no pressure at all, just pure geek-out fun.

What I did notice is that I read less new comics this year than I did the previous years and DC is slowly but surely disappearing from my radar, after being well loved with the New 52.

I'm reading more Marvel again, but mainly in trade format, I can't stand the monthlies anymore, but will read 5-6 trades in a row and go through those 40-50 issues with pleasure.

I'm starting on Y, the last man today, I read it when it came out in monthly spurts, so it will be interesting to read 10 years after it was released with no monthly gap between issues.

we bow before your voracious appetite. (worship) i'm on the cusp of 2000 and YTLM is also in the on deck circle of my to be read pile.

All New X-Men #19 – somewhat dull.

Savage Wolverine #12 – mildly interesting.

Scarlet Spider #24 – a decent read.

Y the Last Man #1-60 :cloud9:

I just read them as well...I had read them issue per issue when they were originally released, ten years ago, but this time I enjoyed them even more as I could continue reading till I overloaded. I remember I didn't really like the ending, but this time I appreciated it a lot more.

Had totally forgotten the very last issue, but after reading it again I can proclaim it was perfect.

So yes, a big :cloud9: from me as well.

Last day of the year, so here's the total for December and the total for entire year

209 comics added for a total of 2563 comics read in 2013...And that's all she wrote.

In 2012 I read 2500 comics, but struggled at the end to get to that number. At the beginning of the year I wondered if I would even participate but I'm happy I did.

I had no more goals for this year, and had no idea where I would end up, so it's surprising to me that I read even more than last year. I tried to go for a mixture of back issues and new comics, but most confess that I read a lot more modern comics than I did last year.

To get to 2563 I had to read a about 213 comics every month, didn't quite manage that every month, but I had some "monster" months as well

January 177

Feb 159

March 202

April 243

May 292

June 299 (what was I thinking ?)

July 116

August 155

September 213

October 259

November 242

December 209

Summer months were the ones where I had the most free time, but also where I read the least. Blame it on all the traveling and going outside.

I even read comics while I was in Las Vegas...much to the bewilderment of my traveling companions. When we got back to our hotel, I would read an hour or so...be it 2 or 4 AM...I just need my daily fix.

Ongoing titles I enjoyed the most were in no particular order

Archer & Armstrong

BPRD Hell on Earth

Xo manowar

Crossed

Sex Criminals

Half Past Danger

Ten Grand

Swamp Thing

Wolverine Max

But the best thing all year were all the Lone Wolf and Cub graphic novels which I finally read.

And now I'm off to read some books :insane:

Oh and congrats to everyone who stuck with it, even if you didn't get to 1000 comics, I'm sure you had fun (thumbs u

Total for 2013 = 0

Update... I've read six comics this year (Goon 38-43). ;)

Just read Goon 44, so my total for 2013 was 7 comics read.

Is the 2014 book club started yet?

I wish I'd kept better track. I don't think I hit 1,000 - but I bet I came pretty close. I was pretty good with reading all year long. I read lots of new stuff and re-read some classic old stuff. This year, I'm going to try and read recommended books that I've never gotten around to.
