How to mess with people 101...

 

Publicly show that you have a high bid of $10,000

Let everyone bid your initial bid up.

Wait until 24hrs and 1 minute remain on the auction

Retract your bid leaving some poor guy on the hook for the underbid.

I think you can retract your bid up to 12 hrs before auction end.
