I'm not a Niner's fan, at all....but MAN they just got jobbed on Crabtree getting held in the endzone...dude gave him a full on hug.

Holding and illegal contact are not impacted by how catchable the ball is or isn't. It's a penalty even if the ball is thrown 50 yards out of the end zone.

 

Only P.I. falls on whether the ball is catchable. Also it was just past his fingers anyway, even with the hug.

 

And when someone is pushing someone away that's hugging them, and they don't want to be hugged, it's a hair's breath from a sexual assault.

 

It was a terrible call, but it doesn't excuse the awful play calling on that entire last series. Spread them out and let CK do his thing. Or call a bunch of low percentage pass plays. Either one. It's only the Super Bowl.

 

 

I mentioned that to my boy as I was watching that series. All that pressure up the middle and they didn't once try to get him on the edge and out run that slow Ravens line.
