... first cover is only a 7.0, but the second cover is a 9.2. that's quite a difference for double covers.

OK, let's go to the other extreme...

From my own OO collection. Didn't realize it was a double-covah brothah til I got it home! Shocked when it got the 2X 9.8 (just assumed the top cover would be graded lower than the interior cover). Have no idea as to value. hm

That's a candidate for pressing if I ever saw one. Nice book.

Time to get out the trusty iron.... (and yes, I actually tried that on a comic as a kid)

Has anyone done any research on how many of these seem to exist? I'm in the process of sorting/grading/pricing 300 boxes and I seem to find one about every 200/250 books I actually grade (not $1 junk) or unless I suspect a double cover by "feeling extra weight" . Wish I had time to unbag all the junk and check.

I find alot of MJ inserts that way too, but you would be surprised how one can tell something is up with the book just by being a little heavy.

I'm guessing books after 1990 are actually rarer as a double cover as the printing process tightened up? Or is that an incorrect assumption?
