The Rathskellar was a legendary punk bar in Kenmore Square in Boston. Tons of Punk and New Wave bands got there start there. The CBGB of Boston otherwise it was a dump

I made many a trip to "The Rat" during my 49 years in Boston thankls to a seductive girl I knew in the 70s.

Here is a kind of scoop on it:

It's a great place at University of Miami

Ahh, the UM Rat. Alas, the one shown on the link is not the original Rat which the University tore down a couple of years ago. I remember Coach Jimmy Johnson's pep rally before the student body at the original Rathskeller right before the Oklahoma Sooners game.

Because people are failing to make the connection that for a first appearance to mean to be monetarily valued anything it has to be regarding a character someone, or more correctly that several someones care about.

More correct? hm

Yes that is more accurate.

I'm thinking the trend towards first appearances indicated new money coming into the hobby.

I don't think long time collectors would change their habits, so this change is dictated by newcomers.

Doesn't every college have a Rathskeller? Or at least didn't they when the drinking age was 18?

It's a german term for a bar in a basement. Pretty hideous credentials for a villain.

Stan the Man would've Ran with it

Roy the Boy would've Toyed with it lol

Bill,

I believe you're right on both counts. :sumo: And there's nothing long-time collectors like more than "new money". ;)
