Timely
I just picked this up this week. Cool book Brian. I love how the man slaves are jumping into a fiery death... but where did all the women go?
Johnny545
Superior Canadian edition, nice! The face on the creature looks red compares to the US version. I assume all the stories are the same? It's not just the red on the face. All the red on this cover is orange on the US version. I like the red much more than the orange. I have to say I like the red also. Here is US version. BEAUMONTS
The red's are slightly brighter from my scanner. The face is red on my copy but my scanner is making it redder and the rest of the cover oranges are actually orange, the scanner is just reddening them. BEAUMONTS
I picked it up at my LCS, traded for common silver and bronze. It is in super nice condition except it has a stain on the bottom front right lower cover. But with this type of comic that made no difference to me. Jayman
Very cool, thanks for the info. I'm thinking this Canadian edition would probably be scarcer than the US version. You did great trading for it!

Johnny545
The two Amazing Mysteries (May and July 1949) predate it by a month (August 1949), but they were in a limited, weird run with photo crime covers and don't fit neatly. I look at this book as kicking off Marvel horror. Edited May 26, 2014 by Johnny545
