CL 9.4 IGB? Book went for 100k, which seemed surprising too.

Indeed. Surprising someone dropped 100K on that totally recreated PoS.

Me, too.  I thought a while ago that the prices of their books had been trending down to such an extent that it seemed unlikely their business model was going to work.  Of course, if this was originally a decent looking 6.0 MP, maybe their net actually wasn't that great.

Who knows, maybe they'd buy their own book to make it look like people are buying their books.

I think CLink is pretty good at keeping a lid on obvious shill bidding/buying.  On some books there may not be much they can do, but on this one I think it would be tough to conceal.

Are you going to get it restored (cover married together)? It would still be a very awesome book to own!! I my opinion it would be even a cooler book to own.

I would like to get some solid advice from some of you boardies.  My front and back covers are actually in pretty nice shape.  If restored I think the comic could get a fairly high grade.

However..... there are SO many restored Superman 1s that I like the idea of leaving it the way it is.

I would not be selling a Superman #1 so for me it would be to have it restored. I would be proud to own it either way but more so completed and put together.

I would have it placed in a CGC holder just to protect it over time for nothing else. So I don't have to worry about it with my OCD.

I’m sooo jealous! I’ll never find one or the cover for mine I’m sure ?

Keep as is there are a lot of restored Sup 1's. If you had it sent to cgc don't know what grade they would give it since it has a married back cover. To have a book like that unrestored RARE RARE RARE

Never say never.  I found the front cover on ebay 3 years ago.  And it's not like it I snatched it after it was listed.  The cover cycled through about 21 days without selling.  I made the guy an offer finally and he took it (I got it cheap which amazed me).  The back cover is the tough one to find so I feel pretty fortunate.

I agree, my inclination is to keep it as is.  But then I look at GPA and see a restored 8.0 sold recently for $150k, what's the story with that one?  Why did it sell so high?
