got my 4 Ottley Variants just in time.

not sure if this is how Midtown usually packs their raws, but i wasn't impressed.

they were in unsealed bags (w/boards but no tape), inside a paper bag folded in half to secure them (but not taped.) then placed between some pretty thin cardboard (only a bit thicker than a backing board tbh.)

they all got here fine, not a ding in sight, but is this the norm for their raw shipping? i had heard good things.

My last 2 envelope mailers from Midtown resulted in damaged books each time and that has happened 3 of the last 5 times. I'm done with envelopes. I will either order the 8 or more books it takes to get a box or nothing at all.

On the other hand, they were 100% for the year until late August or early September. Possibly something changed in the business.

so its 8 for a box? good to know. was counting on using them pretty frequently while down here in Georgia (here for a few months between jobs.) but after that packing job got a bit scared off.

anywhere else have similar selection in terms of online retailers?

To the best of my knowledge. I usually go with larger orders but whenever I have gone smaller, 7 gets the envelope and 8 has been a box.

How much would these copies cost and are they limiting the number of copies one could buy?

I beleive they said $10 each, and with only 250 of them out there, I would guess there will be some osrt of limit, but who knows?

At NYCC they sold the Ghosted Blank for $10 each as well. I think I was told they only had 200 of them and they limited to one per person. Guessing they will do the same for this one.

I order from them frequently. My only complaint would be the silver age bags they ship everything in (:

I love the book because of some of the historical similarities in it. William Clark actually did give lashes to some of the men for what was called 'mutinous acts'

Wow, that picture seems to have been somewhat borrowed in the comics. Very interesting, thanks.

My academic field is history so this book was an interest for me long before it came out. Although my specialty is pre-revolutionary colonial, I do like all aspects of history from Ancient Greek to the late 19th century.

I'm with you although not a specialist by any means, I'm fascinated by everything from the Greeks to the Romans to the Huns and Mongols to the Tudors and the French Revolution to the Civil War to all 20th century stuff. lol

My weakness or lack of study would be pre-revelutionary American history. I don't know why, I just never picked up those books. Maybe this will open my eyes a little wider.
