Also, the variants have to be much more rare than 1 to 1. None of my local ships had any, (ottley or sketch), and they ordered a lot of this book.

 

Very few on eBay as well....

 

Two of the larger shops in my area didn't order many at ALL.

 

One got in 5 copies of the normal cover and the other maybe had 8 copies.. No Ottley variants.

First issue was ok. For whatever reason the art style just feels like it doesn't quite fit the tone of the story to me but the story itself was decent. I'll keep reading the first couple of issues to see what direction the book takes but my pull list is getting close to reaching its limit so I can see myself dropping it unless it really takes off.

well, that arch certainly looks like the one in St. Louis......maybe that's where it came from.

 

Yes, that is the first thing that sprang to mind when I saw that in the comic. However, the Arch is (relatively) current and definitively human-made..

 

What I had in mind were things that we take for granted as being "natural" but are not.

 

This doesn't have to be the entire basis for the story, but would provide some nice "a-ha" moments.
