Top 10 Schomburg covers:

 

This is tough as there are so many good covers.

Yeah,

 

I don't think Kirby and simon would have been too happy about that.

 

Just got caught up with thinking about all the great Cap. covers and forgot that it was only the Schomburg's that we were listing!

 

How was the rest, some of your favorites as well?

It might be impossible to only do a Top 10!

That one crossed my mind, but the rule about "coolness alone" excluded it, because I like it partly because of the GGA. Really, I should have left out MM7, too, because I also like that one in part because of the GGA.

Oh SO many of my favorites!!!! The man was BRILLIANT!!!! I think he drew for EVERYBODY except D.C. Certainly one of my top 3 cover artists from the Golden Age!!! I'm not sure I can narrow it down to ten .....

I would've thought the coolness factor/rule alone would've been why Cap 38 would be included? It seems to have it all in that one.

 

Going to be super hard to narrow this list down especially based on coolness. As far outrageous and cool covers go I really love Exciting 39. Hard to beat the propaganda on that one. I'm glad it at least got an honorable mention.

All select #1 could very well be in my top 10, as could many of the honourable mentions (exciting 39 for the propaganda aspect alone).

 

Schomburg has so many great covers. Suspense #3 with its brilliant red colors and it's rarity, could be in my top 10, maybe even top 3 ), but it has dropped a little bit for me, as I have seen the same type of image in the pulps (with painted covers) many times over, but I still like it alot, and I can see why some might rank it as their #1 Schomburg cover.

 

The great thing about collecting is that everyone is allowed to have his/her own personal preference, and everyone's top 10 list might be different!
