Ha, I need to work on that. The color loss that starts around HQs boob and that big break near her waist is what's throwing me.

Fair enough, but a 7/7.5? I'd be shocked if it came back less than 8.5. I mean the spine ticks are barely visible when looking at it, the scan really does show stuff that isn't visible to the eye.

7/7.5

It's monday morning, lay off the booze.

He's really not that far off...the spine is pretty messed up and I'd say 8.0/8.5...if it came back a 9.0 I'd be more than shocked. It's a beautiful book but 9.4-9.6 is not even a possibility for this book, unless the scanner has really made the defects disproportionate.

:foryou:

From what I see, I think it's around a strong 8.5 / weak 9 or so. It also looks like a press would help it for both presentation and grade.

I think the people that are downgrading this book a lot are looking at the feathering on the spine and counting that as color breaks.

+1

The thicker cover stock breaks along the spine like that and is acceptable in 9.8.

The number of spine tics allowed in HG is quite a few. A 9.4 with three or four noticeable spine ticks is not uncommon.

I would call this a VF+ (8.5).
