Yeah, apparently Frazetta wasn’t too involved in the inking, as well as the color registration which somehow manages to make the romance art look less profound. jimjum12
What you may be referring to is the reproduction ... which was spartan back then. The platemaking process applied was likely of minimal quality. GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Electricmastro

Tremendous pencils reduced to a pedestrian appearance. His panel of the girl in bed is incredible. Electricmastro

I didn't like it nearly as much as this comic version. Bizarre. It's the same cover art (different title), but something about it bothered me. Not bizarre I prefer the comic book versions on these Ace romance covers to the pulp forms myself. Yorick
Popular Post Legion of Goom
I can't say this is the rarest by any stretch, but I don't think it's all that common, either. This cover is a classic for me, though comicjack, sagii, comicnoir and 2 others
Electricmastro
Ric Estrada apparently didn’t do any romance covers until 1968, though I felt these romance splash pages he did for St. John between 1952 and 1955 were still nicely done: jimjum12 and pmpknface

This cover is a classic for me, though "Farmer's daughter in the Barn" is one of the best cover tropes - I really like the above cover, so might have to hunt down a copy. My issue below, which seems to be the moment before the above cover happens Edited November 17, 2020 by Sauce Dog sagii, szucchini, Legion of Goom and 2 others
jimjum12
A Simon and Kirby Gem from the 50's .... Kirby's romance could often be gritty and violent, and this issue is a prime example with "Hands Off Lucy" .... This one courtesy @blazingbob and it just seems nicer than the 6.5 he called it. He still has a few of this title left, but savvy collectors have been picking them off. In fact, it's surprising that with prices of seemingly all GA books exploding, S&K books have remained pretty reasonable. jimjum12
Popular Post Sqeggs
Happy to pick this one up on eBay. Actually an upgrade from my previous copy. I've never seen a high-grade copy of this book and I've begun to wonder whether one exists. pmpknface, jimjum12, szucchini and 4 others 6
