PGM: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (1st print)

I'm super happy to have my lifelong grail in hand (Now to time travel back to visit me as a kid so I can blow his mind away).

 

I will be getting it cleaned and pressed so there are many dings and scuffs that will be removed, but for now I would love to get your opinions on this issue. My first posting to the PGM forum!

 

Extra notes:

• There is a full book length colour breaking crease along the spine.
  
• The water stain marks at the top of the front cover do not go through the cover and seem to be on the surface and seem to be removable with cleaning.
  
• No interior defects. Page quality is supple and Cream.
  
• The big scuffs on the centre back cover scan is from the scanner glass. Also the small speck above the S in 'TURTLES' isn't anything but dust.

Lots of minor defects and dings. I think a press could work wonders on this comic and improve the grade considerably...? Keep us posted.

From what I hear CGC is rather lenient on the grades for this book. I would say that it is probably a 6.0 and press a little nicer! IMHO!

4.0 cgc should grade all books as equals, not be lenient on specific books. if they do then confidence in their standards would come into question.

4.5 for me. While a pressing may improve the appearance in hand, I don't think it will improve the technical grade. Just too many color breaks.

Thanks all - pretty much confirmed my initial assumption that it would fall around 4.0 to 4.5 (i'll cross my fingers for a 4.5 after it is cleaned and pressed).
