Hi looking for some other opinions. To my eye it looks no worse than 9.6. My only question is that there is a ink smear, you can see it goes from cables chin onto cannonballs hair. It must of happened during printing, it definitely looks like it came of the press like that. Does this effect the grade or not?

 

Thinking about trying to get a double sig SS by Stan and Rob at Wondercon this year if they attend. Thanks for your opinions.

Your scans are too small to give you a more accurate grade assumption. I would have to guess conservatively at 9.4 IMHO!

thanks guys. yeah i was trying to get my scanner to show more high res. i think my scanner just sucks though. anyone got any tips on how to scan better, or recommend a good scanner for comics?

okay so i upped the resolution and saved as a tiff. i think this is the best i can do with this scanner, may have to invest in a new one pretty soon. is this any better, and does it change anyone's opinions?

Actually my PROPERTIES show it to be a .jpg image. Regardless, it took long enough to download. Thank God it wasn't a bitmap image,... it probably would have knocked my ISPs satellite out of orbit.

 

NOTE: Too small of a scan can hide defects while too large of a scan can over-emphasize defects. Now I give it,... SOLID 9.2 / 9.4

Great scans! I would say that 9.2 is probably more realistic given the staple tear on the upper staple and the edge wear on the top of the front cover.
