In this age of encapsulation, the Gobblygook books are non-starters. TMNT 1 is the 1st appearance of the turtles....

Tell that to Overstreet!!

What's Overstreet? ???

Seriously? The annual price guide for comic books (Printed since 1970 by Robert ''Bob'' Overstreet).

Can we get back on track to TMNT #1 I am sure some members do not appreciate us wasting there time here with so much non sens!!

If you're posting on a comic book message board, you give up your rights to complain about "wasted time".

Stop wasting time and go post more books in your sales thread :baiting:

I'd like to. But I've had a few too many wobbly pops to handle HG comics right now.

:cloud9: My favorite trade of my life!

In my opinion the OP and myself both got what we wanted from the trade. He got the TMNT #1 he always wanted and I got a clean AF 15 with tight grading &good PQ I always wanted.

Plus I had this copy in the process of getting graded right behind the CGC 9.6.

Winnah winnah chicken dinner!! Nice books!! 893applaud-thumb.gif

I have to ask are the 2 CGC cases the same size (I know that the newer CGC cases do not work currently with the CGC Pro Slabs available....but they said they will be selling some in a few months that will worth with the newer CGC cases) or is the one with the TMNT #1 larger (or is it that the book is smaller in size)? I am asking because some day I will buy a TMNT #1 and I always put my more expensive books in CGC Pro Slabs to protect them so I want to make that the Pro Slab will fit the holder for TMNT #1.

I believe he means he owns that CGC 9.8 and got rid of the 9.6 he also had for the AF15 CGC 4.0. So he is not hearth broken about it since he has a better copy with his 9.8.

I am the same person. (shrug)

Hell no I didn't keep that book.

9.8's = hookers, blow, and cash flow.

Hahaha sorry about that I must be getting sleepy!! Your AF15 CGC 4.0 will only continue to increase in value. Can't go wrong with that book. By the way could you answer my question about the size of the TMNT #1 CGC case above it would be appreciated.

It's an oversized book,so the CGC holder is larger than the average slab.

Do the ones for the Golden Age work/fit on it or none of them do (Pro Slab)?

Gobbledygook #1 (only 50 ever made/printed in white and black....imagine that TMNT #1 had 3000 printed). CGC will not grade them since it is to hard to distinguish a fake/counterfeit from a real one. The is also a Gobbledygook #2 I believe only 50 where printed as well. I was going to buy a Gobbledygook #1 a few years back till I could not find one graded by CGC then was told what I just mentioned above as why they do not grade them (to many fakes out there). One grading company will grade them (PGX) but if CGC will not take that risk neither am I with the chance of it been a fake. So in the end I will never buy one even if one day CGC decides to go ahead and grade them (that will most likely never happen).

Gobbledygook #1 and #2 would be worth a lot more that TMNT #1 if this was not the case. They are already worth a lot without CGC grading any of them.

Gobbledygook1.jpg

Gobbledygook2.jpg

Here is one graded by PGX (Maybe a counterfeit and maybe a real one no one will ever truly know):

$_1.JPG

That was only an advertisement for TMNT 1. If ads are considered 1st appearances, then a book like DeadWorld 10 would be Crows 1st app.? See how silly that sounds.

Not silly if you bought a raw for $10 and it graded CGC 9.6. :acclaim:

I forgot the boadie's name who hesistated on that eBay deal?

Hey what can I say Overstreet states Gobbledygook #1 a their 1st appearance so I take that as been what it is. As mentioned CGC will not grade this book only PGX would.

Overstreet can say what ever they want, ads are not first appearances.

I looked up OS. All it says is advertisement of TMNT #1 on back. Though it is the 1st app. of Fugitoid. (shrug)

I think the older Overstreet price guides use to say 1st appearance of the TMNT. I am not 100% sure but I seem tio remember that but a few years ago I got rid of my older Overstreet guides I now only have #44 and #45.
