Since I am telling things you don't know I will keep going. Did you know you can tell what side of the car the gas tank is on by the little arrow on your dashboard near the gas pump symbol? (I bet you didn't know that!)

I did know that! :baiting:

Okay, did you know that your foot is the same size as your forearm, elbow to that knobby wrist bone? (you knew the other one and this one isn't as good but I'll try!)

How is Elektra: Assassin/Love and War. I never read that, the covers turned me off as a kid but it is probably something I can appreciate now. The set is pretty cheap on ebay but the two hard covers available are pushing near $100! They must be out of print?

Anybody have any idea what a complete set of the Bendis Daredevil run should go for in NM or better? I have the whole run and have thought about selling it even though I love it! I have been out of work for awhile and have some debts to pay off.

messed this up four times now but

internet archive aka wayback machine

Actually the Wayback Machine is part of the Internet Archive site (they are not the same thing). The Internet Archive hosted material whose copyright has expired, and many interesting books or historical footage or TV shows may be found there. :)

This is a issue that should be in every Daredevil’s collection.

It also proves how great pre-Miller Daredevil was (without unnecessary excesses). :)

I have never read this issue, I don't even recall this cover!?! Looks great though....one day!

I can't believe we're 7 pages into this thread and no one's mentioned the 5 issue DD: Man without Fear mini-series by Miller/Romita Jr/Williamson.

I can't begin to think of a better storyline from the 1990's than this.

I never heard of this one!?!? It's good I take it, is it reprinted in a trade? Anyone have extra copies of the series they can part with?

There are a few Starman arcs alone better than this. It was fine and dandy but c'mon now!

I really enjoy all the Stan Lee / Roy Thomas issues with art by guys like Everett, Orlando, Wood, Powell, Romita and Colan, up until issue # 70 or thereabouts.

Then goofy Gerry Conway took over (the convoluted Mr. Kline storyline in DD, Iron Man, and Sub-Mariner - echh) in the early '70s and the book was almost unreadable.

Finally the comic book blood lust phase arrived, couched in the pretense of dark edgy writing, "sharp bone into soft brain" ... really? I can't read those stories more than once.

Give me Lee and Colan, Murdock (both Matt and Mike :D ) and Foggy Nelson, with Karen page as the naive secretary, not a drug addled porn star (that was beyond disgusting). You guys can have the rest.

A standout issue for me; DD #15, "And Men Shall Call Him Ox!"

'nuff said.

It actually started out as a Daredevil movie treatment Frank Miller was working on, then evolved to a graphic novel (remember those oversized ones from the 1980's - Death of Capt Marvel, New Mutants, etc), but when Miller expanded DD's origin, it ended up at 144 pages. Far too long for the graphic novels Marvel was used to publishing back then.

It has been reprinted a few times both in softcover and hardcover formats, but if you really want to get the behind-the-scence info, check out youtube for the Miller and Romita Jr DD man without fear interviews. (thumbs u

Lord knows I tried to get into Starman, but the stories always left me wanting. (shrug)

The art was nice, though.

Sometimes I feel like my whole entire comic reading existence should be devouted to just reading and re-reading any and everything Daredevil.

Pretty much everything I've read, I've adored.

I plan to read from issue #1 to current (that's what? 600 or so issues now thereabouts?), all the mini series' I can find (I have most), all 1-shots, and as many crossover issues as I can grab also. Just read the entire DD catalogue.

Wonder how many issues that would be?

Justin, correct me if I'm wrong, but there are only 3 Marvel Masterworks so far right?

Yeah, I've got an entire run of raw issues I'm going to hammer through probably this summer. I'll do some trades for the earlier issues and some Miller ones. Have a few other series to finish first lol
