considering the mess i found this book in (no bag, no board, on it's side aka horizontal in between nothing but messed up comics) , i'm surprised it looks as good as it does. thoughts?

Hard to tell from scans but it looks pretty solid to me.

Spine ticks, top edge, blunted or soft corners... a lot of little defects keep it away from VF/NM range. Just my opinion. A pressing could help.

The top left corner will be the deciding factor. I had one with almost identical spine ticks, came back a 9.2. Id say you have an outside chance at a 9, if the graders are particularly strict that day, it's an 8.5. Don't see a press helping
