Question:

Are the Phantom Special Editions (Kaiju and Creature Feature):

a. Phantom Special editions of Enormous #1 1st print

b. Phantom Special editions of Enormous #1 2nd print

?

These are the sorts of questions that give me Nowhere Men flashbacks. Lots of various reissues of #1 followed by a series of interminable delays. I hope that isn't the case here. :wishluck:

It seems to me that this is THE focus of the writer. They have a very aggressive marketing campaign and the only delay has been due to the distributor as one of the covers hit a week earlier. I'm super pumped about the potential of this book. 2c

On one hand you have a group complaining that they cannot find the books to read.

On the other hand you have a group complaining that they do not want the material re-released.

What's the fine line that must be tread to appease the vindictive lunatics?

Also, just watched the Machinima episode. Pretty cool. totally plausible, and it would be nice to have a break from zombies and political thrillers if this were to become a regular series.

Also, if it were to become a regular series, hopefully they could do a crossover with Downton Abbey.

I'm pretty sure Larry stated earlier in this or another thread that this was going to be his 1st Phantom 2nd print ever. (shrug)

The creators asked me if I would be interested in supporting their second print.

I said yep.

They designed some killer covers for my group.

One of them will be rare as hell...

under 150 copies.

Some second prints beat the out of their 1st print counterparts on the secondary market.

Let's see how thees fare...

Not trying to stir any pot here, this is a legitimate question. How does a 2nd print with a 150 print run either a) get the book into the hands of readers who couldn't find a first print, or b) help the creators financially? Unless the creators sell the highly limited second print directly (which still begs question a) how would they benefit financially from a secondary market increase on that book?

EXCELLENT question.

There are two versions of Phantom second print.

One quite limited, the other 1,000 copies plus.

I'm sure that our guaranteed numbers helped the creators with their decision to second print. The decision was made months ago.

I still have a few 1st prints. I think that if people don't get a chance to read it early, they will never get on board. I'm glad you made a 2nd print and that they did too. The more, the merrier imo. :applause:

I hope they fare well, but I was scratching my head on the cover design for the phantom 2nd print, since basically they are a footprint put on top of the Hastings cover for #1.

Personally, I like the 1st print Phantoms, but thats just me.

B&W are going to be pricey $$$$ on secondary market with only 150. Good luck to anyone hunting these...

I'm not a big second print guy. But I gotta say there is something very appealing to me about that Phantom green footprint cover. Probably because that particular color shade of green is my favorite color, so my eye is naturally drawn to it. I may have to splurge and get a copy.... :insane:

Thanks for all the various responses guys!

I really wasn't trying to stir the pot, nor complain, I really just didn't know how these latest phantoms were to be categorized (1st or 2nd print). Thank you for the answers.

FWIW I purchased both phantom variants of the 2nd print, AND I am very excited to see where the series goes.

Woot woot! Thanks!!

Also in further support of this title I think I paid around triple cover for the 1 shot (which I'm gonna frame because it just looks cool) 1a x2, 1b x2, 1Hastings, 2a, 2b.

Just trying to do my part!

Larry is 100% correct. The Phantom Variant Program really helped drive the second print. No question or doubt about it.

Ah, see - the Phantom Variant 2nd Print gave us the chance to FULLY reproduce the poster from the Machinima short. Very grateful to have been able to do that. The original Hastings exclusive presented only select elements of the art. So, what you see on the Phantom Variant is the full poster w/ credits and design. LOVE IT.
