I was OUT before I was ever in.

Is it possible to put an entire thread on ignore? Just as a hypothetical, suppose I wanted to put this thread on ignore...could I do it? :wishluck:

I know that Janet is maintaining an "OUT" list. I think we should also maintain a "THREAD ADDICT" list...to enumerate all of you who admittedly can't stop yourselves from continued posting in this thread. How long will this go on? Are you going to keep responding in this manner as long as the OP keeps posting? For the love of holy things, please stop...just stop...sweet mother. Mercy....MERCY!

If you hate this thread so much why bother to read it much less comment on it? But to answer your question just I'm not sure ask a mod.

I knew this was coming. ;)

Seems you don't hate it as much as you say because you're replying to me.

Just think Gabe, if you find and make $125 on a mere 94 more flips this year, that would be the equivalent of working just another 20 hours per week at a minimum wage job for a year.

Sounds completely plausible to me for you.

The point of this right now isn't to have it overtake my job right now but do this as a side thing. Getting out of debt is just one of those steps as well as learning to be more aggressive in my offers and actually understanding the market of the book I'm buying as with the DV 3 CGC 9.8

Well, you didn't know the market of that DV #3, someone told you about it. The jury is still out on that one and don't quote the $90 and $100 sale because it needs to go up a LOT more for it to matter to you.

He is telling you that instead of "trying" and yes that is in quotes for a reason to flip comics. Get 40 hrs a week instead of 20hrs a week and your debit would be wiped a hell of a lot quicker. 20hrs x $10hr = $200 week...which means in less than 2 months you be  but instead you keep on swimming up stream.

Yes and no, I realize that not following the budget isn't teaching me full self control but at the same time if I had only done 11 per week it would take forever to get out of debt is what I'm getting across. It's not the budget that I was set as it has more freedom to what I'm doing now but I can handle it as I am slowly changing.

Yes I broke the 11 a week budget but buying that Hulk 180 is a good start.

How is buying anything reducing debt?

Because if I buy something that I can make a profit on I'll quickly reduce debt as opposed to it taking forever.

Unfortunately, I can see as you get more "deals" it'll improve your confidence which will cause you to be more wreckless with your purchase. You've already seen that with your previous purchases but after a few more good buys and sells you'll be back to thinking yourself as a baller again.

If he was wreckless he probably wouldn't be in debt.

So he is in debt because his purchases required some thinking and research on his part (not at all effective), however if he just made the purchase in a reckless/careless manner then it's possible he might have made a profit. That actually makes sense.

He needs to shoot from the hip while not letting his emotions take control, but also not overthinking it and being more aggressive with his purchases.

One of his other challenge is he buys into the hype of the "next hot book" and his greed takes over. He can say it's his emotions that causes him to make mistakes but ultimately it's his greed and ignorance that are his downfall.

$87 for a spec book isn't terrible, though when you're 4 figures in the hole it's probably not wise. Buying raw copies on the cheap might've been the better move for him in that situation.

If the Hulk #180 pans out that's a good deal. I would've made that deal, so I can't fault him for that one.

That last book was an absolute no-brainer and he got a very good deal on that. Chasing spec books or movie books will hurt him if he doesn't control this. I agree that raw books would have be a safer move for him but it seems he is looking for bragging rights to selling a high dollar book even though it may bring a small return or loss. I think the belief is that selling a $500 book with only a $40 profit sound a hell of a lot better than selling a $50 book and making a $40 profit off of it.

I don't know if he would ever admit that, but I think you may be right. Selling book X that's only worth $50 is not as "sexy" as a high grade ASM #129. I think there is a part of him that likes thinking he's a "wheeler and dealer" of collectibles. 2c

I tend to agree. Nobody is forcing anyone to read this journal. People who're asking for it to be shut down are the ones with the issue IMHO.

That's not entirely fair Casey.

I only suggested closing it for a bit as the topic switched to Gabes physical medical issues.

Surely that should be 'out of bounds'?

Gabe just isn't self aware enough to understand the ramifications of putting his entire medical history up for all to see and mock.

What happens if he names his medical specialists in this thread.

Keep it to comics and it's fair game. Medical issues should remain out of the public arena, and certainly not a subject of ridicule.

Not suggesting for a second that you would mock someone with a medical condition, but Christ on a stick, there are enough here who would, and do.

What next - mocking Hector because of his height?

Agree - also agree with gabe - if people do not like it - stop reading it - gabe is well capable of stating if things cross a line.

Fair enough.

I'm happy my opinion is on record though.

I guess Gabe is going to do what Gabe is going to do.

Besides, it's the weekend, and I'm sure we all have better things to do with our friends and families than worry about a very small thread on a very small chatboard.

Have a great weekend all.

Yes you have a point but those sales were enough to push the 90 day average from 65 dollar to 74 which is about what I paid for shipping. Also another copy just sold for 110 and I watching the book before I bought it as well, the fact that people are willing to pay over gpa means this news is catching on and people are realizing this. I know my friend is that one that told me about it but I chose to listen to him as well.
