Well @Ninja0215

Maybe I curbed your enthusiasm too hard, but you could have cgc or anyone do it...

Ugh, this just rained on my day pretty hard. Anyway,  I'm gonna send it back anyway to gwt the daredevil label on it, now that it exists.

Maybe,  I'll just forget about it then. Still presents pretty well and it's a 9.8. 👍

I'd count that in the win column :x

All of it really, all good

Thanks for the examples.  I did sent the QC manager examples for this type of problem but, just sent these along with a screenshot to show they were recently graded, and all 3 were from the same submission.

It’s a good looking book (a 9.8!) even with the wonky wrap. I collect DD and would be thrilled with this copy.

Yeah,  ya know I guess I never thought about it like that.  Maybe I'm being a a pansy.....my first 9.8 from cgc.  Thanks for outlook my friend .👍

It's more love for the book, as it's not a qc issue, and we dont want to derail the thread (thumbsu

We know you'll live! Somehow you will bare the news lol

Jk much love for the daredevil 181 9,8  post in back from cgc thread?

Just got the grades back on my last submission and it's truly mind boggling.

Books that should NOT have graded higher than 9.0 getting 9.6s WITH notes.  Books that were slam dunk 9.6s getting 9.2s with no notes.  There is no consistency - even among books in the same submission that I assume are being graded by the same person.

I'll scan some of what I'm talking about when I get them in hand.

It's always been my understanding that all label text (title/issue, publisher/date, label type, grade/page-quality, notes, etc) is 100% established once a book leaves Grading (Step 4/7 in CGC's "Process").  I did not realize that any of the data previously entered into CGC's digital system could be altered by anyone downstream -- Encapsulation (Step 5/7), QC (Step 6/7), or Packaging/Shipping (Step 7/7).

So wouldn't the primary responsibility for "incorrect issue numbers on the labels" rest with someone upstream -- Receiving (Step 1/7), Verification (Step 2/7), Authentication (Step 3/7), or Grading (Step 4/7)?  Wouldn't an error like this actually count as two separate whiffs?  Whiff #1 by the person who originally input the wrong data into CGC's digital system, and Whiff #2 by the QC specialist who did not catch the original error?

The problems we're seeing these days are indicative of performance errors up and down the entire chain.  Maybe the QC specialists have just given up.  hm
