BB-Gun
A cool Cap motorcycle cover! Captain America had a lot of cycles. Sometimes he rode a Harley and other times he rode an Indian. Top one is an Indian and bottom is a Harley. He let them fall into lakes, valleys and under trains. Below is a picture of me with a WWII Harley in Brussels during a liberation day celebration. sacentaur
Citrus fruit labels lasted from the 1880's til the mid-1950's, designed to be attached to wooden crate ends - this identified the product and served as a form of advertising. The brand names varied widely and ranged across the entire board, including this Mutt example (from the 1930's):

Robot Man
Those are very cool Steve. Being a graphic designer, I have always loved those and used them for inspiration. The printing metheods back in those days offered unlimited colors. They wern't printed CMYK, but on stone litho blocks. Every color was a different stone. They didn't have a traditional "dot" as we know today but a random dot that was almost continious tone. There are hundreds of subjects. I really like the Yellow Kid one and the use of "metalic" ink on the Mutt & Jeff. I have had a lot of them over the years mostly topless girls, sports, cars/trucks and political. They are kind of like cigar labels. I don't activlely collect them but when I run into them in the wild and they are cheap, I pick them up. A lot of times I flip them because I really only want them for the art or type faces. I will see if I have any around. Along the same lines, I recently bought a salesman sample book of match books from the 1920's/1930's with just beautiful (but small) images of every product you could think of. I will try to post some when I get the chance.
wickedmountain
Hi Gang. Yes, I will from try and keep my stuff mostly in this thread. I've got some cool ideas but just have to make the time to shoot photos and post it. "All in good time my pretties!" Oh no matter what we all say, this really is "junk" to most "normal people". If you don't believe me, take one of your favorite comics into 7-11 and try and trade it for a 6 pack... But us "abnormal" people with refined tastes know the real story. I Know this is late but welcome to the boards and great collection

Robot Man
Thanks BB! Like 'em both a lot. I have a #20 but have never owned a #25. Kinda funny that Robin apears to be driving the Batmobile. #25 is one of my favorite motorcycle covers. Just gotta find the right copy. It's still on the list... Robot Man
Well I finally got some time so I thought I'd finish off the Motorcycle photos I've got in the bucket. Funny, it seems like I've got more motorcycle toys than comics. Hope you don't mind. Here is another one of my favorites. A 1920's Indian windup. Hard to find with the company name on them. It's amazing I can still remember where I got it and I've had it for years. Edited July 10, 2015 by Robot Man
