I wish this board had "Like" and "Dislike" buttons

The change to the boards was definitely in July of 2007 and that was when PM's went to being threads rather than individual replies (which was possibly the best change I've ever witnessed here).

 

I am completely at a loss as to when the star system went. I've always known it as something that happened before I got here.

I lost all of my PM's with the big switch. Even though the star rating system was around for 2 1/2 years, I don't believe I ever rated a thread.

I would hate to lose my PM's. I almost never delete them and there is so much useful information in some of them. I wish there was a search function for my PM's.

I've only hit the notify button once, maybe twice for inappropriate pictures. For the longest time I didn't know how.

 

If someone spouts nonsense or goes against board rules I'm sure there's enough people here humping the notify mod button. I enjoy watching people digging their holes deeper until the "POOF!"

A 20-post limit per day would be fabulous, some people's head would actually explode after they had reached the day's quota and were not able to chime in anymore.

 

Some people would reach that in two minutes and then be running on a hamster wheel the rest of the day with nothing to do.

 

 

OR they would write the equivalent of a thirty three page manifesto with each post.

The major flaw of the ignore system, of course, is that they can still see YOU, and still try to interact with you and others in the same conversation.

 

If there was a real ignore system, where the posts of another person completely vanished, even when quoted, that would be a very, very good thing.

 

I'm ignored by some people that I am sad to see feel that way, and I'm sure there is mutual loss of life enrichment, and there are some people who ignore me that I am very glad do. I'm sure there are people I ignore that don't deserve it, and there are some that do. And there are some people I've taken off ignore, and some people who have done the same with me. Some I keep on ignore out of habit, even though I think we have both reached a détente ( Tranny!)

 

Such is life.

 

What IS silly and most juvenile is announcing that you're ignoring someone. Just do it and be done with it.

 

 

I have just a few posters on ignore and I admit that is because of their use of a signature that I find annoying (not slym or even Chip).

 

I still have to see it whenever someone quotes them and occasionally I do look at their comments anyway. I am certain I am on plenty of peoples ignore list.
