manetteska
Who is more surprised on this copy of Young Love #49 ? The seller for the auction ending that high, or the buyer when receiving the comic and it's not 7.5 - 8.5 as advertised? Yorick
Popular Post Readcomix
Found a circulation statement in a June 1969 Charlton. Putting it here for posterity. Jonathan78, hchill25, MusterMark and 3 others

Especially considering there are a few higher grade slabs for that book. It slides look like the buyer left positive feedback. It doesn’t come up for sale all too often, but jeez. That was a lot to pay for that book.

The 9.4 is the Savannah’s and sold 10+ years ago, at least publicly. I’ve been looking for about 7 years, and my copy is just a VG/F. I’d love to upgrade, but not for anything near what that one sold for. manetteska

I have two copies -- haven't looked at the older one in a bit -- but I'd say mid-grade as well. electricprune
Popular Post Dr. Love
I'm a bit surprised, but not shocked. I know who's got the 9.4 and it's locked up forever. More are being submitted recently - in the past two months three new copies have been graded - a 9.0, 6.0, and 5.5. Last year a CBCS 6.5 sold in HA for $77. That was a for real bargain, and in retrospect I should have gone hard for that. There are certain types of romance books that will do sooo much better on ebay than any trad auction house, and this is one of them. It had, for ebay, strong participation of 4 bidders driving it up on the last day. A solid Romita signature portrayal and a minor DC romance grail due to the absolutely unique purple coloring with the green title. Inspired. Love my copy, it's a burning house book for me - the kind you'd run back in for! Popular Post southern cross
I do like the covers of DCs in the 60s When it comes to the 70s, Charltons can have some mediocre covers then they do this And if I come across any more copies of this book, I just have to get it for the cover looks so wrong. Indeed, that is so wrong. Brown and blue will never do. Don Diego is rocking the hairy chest look though, isn't he. Catching people at it whilst standing in a doorway rather oddly dressed seems to be a theme for this title. Popular Post southern cross
Love the couple and the odd person looking covers. I call them third wheel covers. Then there are the covers that are just funny. Like this one with a great pickup line that has red flags flying. Then there's the guy only wants one thing covers.
