And, here is a weird one. Covers appear to be only printed and bound with the black plate only. Inside covers are blank.

Have had it for years. Got it in a group of books from a friend. Have never seen or heard of another one. Might be some kind of a “checking copy”. Or, the press ran a few seconds before the pressman turned on the other fountains. Weird for sure.

I got to looking at copies on Ebay and they all have Turkish Taffy ad in the bottom right square where yours is blank.Inclined to agree about being very early in the printing.They may have forgotten to put the ad in.Very rare & cool for sure.

Just picked up another DGMB that’s a more purple cover than my other copy. Not sure if this is a printing variation or  slight change of inks during the press run. The back cover does however have a black rectangle or possibly a Roman numeral 1 at the top that my other blue copy does not have.

It says you have great taste
