Is this a show you can just get in at the door. Or is it crazy like others and you have to know someone that knows someone.

 

 

I'll be in Colorado and will be half tempted to fly out to Chicago for a day or two to hit this con on the way home to Alaska.

Depends what day you go. Thursday or Sunday should be no problem. Maybe a short wait in line for a ticket. Friday and Saturday are a different matter

As much as I love this show I avoid Saturday like the plague. I've usually spent all my money and then some by Thursday evening anyway, but even if I hadn't that level of crowd is enough to keep me away.

Nope, popping my cherry. August is almost impossible for me, for the past decade I've been in the US in July, solo. And then in August on holiday with the wife and kids somewhere else.

For the past few years I've combined the above and now I'm in the US in August with the family. Took some convincing, but I was able to convince them that they will be fine without me while fly to Chicago for a few days.
