I am excited to see a total eventually. Maybe we'll get one sometime on Sunday. This has been a big success for Greg's widow and family.

 

I knew Greg through the boards. He sold me a Fantastic Four #52. Later, I would see him a Journey into Mystery 89, the same one, I'm quite certain, that I re-purchased earlier this thread. In fact, just before his death we had two pending transactions. I purchased a Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1, CGC SS 9.0, from him, and was also selling him a book. The last transaction I reverse, and the first one came through thanks to Junkdrawer's efforts.

 

When news of Greg's death came, I didn't know what to make of it. The circumstances and suddenness of his death took us all of guard. I didn't know him personally. I just bought and sold comics with him. I liked him--he was a good guy in my dealings and was always jovial on the boards. In fact, he must have been a good to guy to inspire Chris to take on the responsibility of what he's done, and to generate such good will on these boards.

 

I'm glad that I got to know in, even if in a small way. I have a feeling that I would have loved to sit down and geek out on comics with him.

 

Thanks to everyone who made this thread happen. This board's charity towards its own is heart-lifting.

Donating this book to the cause. My sincere condolences to the family. And a huge kudos to Sharon et al., for taking on this enormous endeavor.

 

Originally purchased this book as a VF/NM (online) and it's really more a VF/VF- (little sliver of a chip on the bottom middle of the cover). 1st Batroc cover.
