I thought what it went for on HA was a pretty strong price given it is one of the worse covers in the run. That said, I wouldn't kick it out of bed. :insane:

 

 

And here I would've called it one of the stronger covers in the run. It's dripping with history and kitsch, and seems like it would be more likely to spark a conversation amongst civilians than a more conventional cover theme. Just imagine how many veterans would enjoy this and then love to tell you that Batman is confusing a rifle with a gun.

1) Miller's 300 Wizard Magazine Pin-up

2) Mike Zeck's - Amazing Spider-man over-sized poster art

3)Perez's Justice League # 217 Cover

4) Romita's Amazing Spider-man # 69, Half splash page 10

5) The three McFarlane pages

 

 

Now that the HA auction hoopla is over and done with, has anyone been watching Clink?

 

The Perez JLA 217 cover is already at $47K :o

In speaking with people behind the scenes the feeling is that Perez is very under appreciated and under valued.

 

They say that many public deals show his pieces in the 10-20 range (covers of course) but privately high 5 figures and even 6 figure deals have been made for his best pieces - I dont know which ones those are I must admit !!!

 

Not sure either of the highest Perez sales at Auctions so far but this one seems to be up there

 

get a couch, get a microwave, put your feet up its :popcorn: time

I'm not attuned to the Perez market, but 51k seems like a healthy amount to me. Some other great pieces in this auction that would look great framed.

I think that's a mis-read of the ST 150 credits. Buscema penciled the Nick Fury story (over Kirby layouts).
