Not much recently. Here's the list I put together over the last few minutes. I only pulled up the stories of 10 pages or more:

Code Title - Hero Published

H 85218 Zeiltocht Katrien - Donald Duck Jan-90

D 91192 War Of The Wendigo - Uncle Scrooge Jan-91

D 92083 The King Of The Copper Hill - Uncle Scrooge Jan-93

D 92514 The Argonaut Of White Agony Creek - Uncle Scrooge Jan-93

D 93488 The Recluse Of McDuck Manor - Uncle Scrooge Jan-94

D 93574 The Duck Who Never Was - Donald Duck May-94

Scrooge, here are the 6 stories that don't match the Gladstone list.

I'm assuming the first story was never released in the U.S.

I think War of the Wendigo was released in the U.S. at some point, but maybe after 1997?

King of Copper Hill probably was renamed "King of the Klondike". (Uncle Scrooge #292 - Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck Chapter 8)

I'm not sure about the other 3. Your list indicates when the books were released in Denmark or Sweden, but not the U.S.

Thanks! I had read this story in a recent gemstone reprint, but it was nice to see the original Barks version of the 1st app. of Grandma duck!

It was fun hanging out with you and John yesterday Matt. :)

I'm glad I had a double on that book and you had a double on the Mickey Mouse magazine! Worked out well for both of us.

Last weekend I completed a trade with my long-time friend Richard Olsen. We haven't seen each other in several years as we both moved away from New Orleans. Little did I know he was only 55 minutes away in a neighboring town in Mississippi! Well he recently joined the boards and saw some of my posts and contacted me.

We got together at his fabulous home and I was treated to wandering through much of his incredible collection. Rich has been involved in the hobby for 50 years and has been a prominent member of the hobby for much of that time. You will find him in the Overstreet Price guide. Over a decade ago he put me in touch with his friends who had what eventually became the More Fun and Crescent City collection.

Rich has a love for comics, especially all things Disney. I share that love. When I left his house I was loaded down with Disney books, comic art, and other items that he gave me. It was a wonderful time, and reconnecting with old friends is one of the great pleasures in life. He mentioned how important "shared memories" are. I agree with that sentiment.

Last weekend he came over to my house and we concluded a trade. I traded him some things that were on his grail list and I am on the hunt to find him a couple more. It would bring me great pleasure to get them into his collection.

:)

Anyway, he traded me a wonderful selection of Disney comics that will be the cornerstone of my set of them that I hope to complete one day.

There was one double, a Firestone giveaway, in the collection and I traded it to Shiverbones this weekend for a double on a Mickey Mouse magazine that he had. I'm glad Matt has a book from this collection, and I know that he will treasure it.

Without further ado I give you a wonderful set of super fun books that I received from my buddy Rich.

Hope you enjoy seeing them, but I will have the most fun reading them and adding to the runs over the coming years. What makes the even more special is that they are in a grade that I can keep! I don't have the funds to keep high grade books, as they are just too pricey and liquid. But these are right in my sweet spot, and since they came from Rich, they will always be special to me.

Thanks big guy!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the pictures and the story. Wonderful how these old books can be recycled generations later.

I just received the 10th and final box of the new complete Carl Barks set that has been published in Europe over the last 3 years. It's been so much fun rereading all the stories.

I got to see these books in person yesterday, and it was a blast. Bill is one of the most interesting people I have ever met & his love for funny books is vast!

tb - Are those box sets in English? in Color? I haven't heard about them. I have long been wondering why the Barks material hasn't been turned into a color hardbound series ala the EC books out now.

They are unfortunately not in English. It's a shame since the books are absolutely beautiful and far superior to any previous US reprints. Barks is a cultural icon across most of Europe and this set was planned for years as the ultimate release of his complete works. It's gorgeous but a bit pricey at $3,000.
