Behind this goofy childish cover is some of the best adult storytelling you'll find with DC Comics. And yes, I'm including the Alan Moore stuff. It's a superior effort top to bottom.

I'd submit much of the Tomb of Dracula series.

 

Outside of 1 and 10, there aren't many issues that run more than $5 in decent grade, and Colan's moody work suited the stories so well.

I know some people may not believe this (or not care) but even though IDW has done kind of books with their licenses, they have done EXCELLENT Transformers books.

 

A writer that kind of sneaks in on different books and I always seem to dig is Bill Mantlo. I wish they'd find the individual_without_enough_empathy who did that to him.

Rememering how much I enjoyed the Eclipse AIRBOY series when it was coming out. Tim Truman art, great characters, and 50 cents!! Hell yeah. Fun read and a fun time for grabbing new issues hot off the press.

For some reason, this Death's Head story from Daredevil has really stuck with me since I was 9 years old. I still enjoy it to this day. Not only that, Gene Colan's style of art fit the story well. Can be had for pretty cheap.
