It also makes a nice lumbar-support pillow to alleviate back pain. And in a pinch you can use it as a butt pillow for those bad bouts of hemhorroids CGC board butthurt.

This was a twitter advertisement, so someone paid money to have this show up on my timeline.

The best spacers I've ever seen were the carboard boxes that Heroclix prizes came in. They were about 9"x6" and 4" thick. We used them the same way for years. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where they got the idea.

I use hydraulic scissors to take up the space and provide support.

 

They work nice...but are a little expensive and add about 100 lbs per box.

 

Definitely only for the serious collector.
