Oh nice, thanks! I knew I recently saw one listed on eBay but it was gone, I should have thought to double check the sold listings. It's a cool book - heavy glossy cover and all black on the back, so a terrible fingerprint magnet. Mine has some bad tics on the back too - but it's ok because I'm not selling it and I paid $2. It's got a version of the New 52 #1 cover under the mask cover, it looks like this:

Oddly enough, I found this same book at Half Price Books myself a month or two ago. Definitely a cool find!

Weird! I wonder if some unclaimed copies ended up going to shops or something? But 5 years after SDCC would be odd...

I dunno. It figures they probably get multiple copies from various sellers. Or it could just be coincidence. I don't know how they handle distribution with things that go back to the main warehouse VS things sold directly to and kept at the individual stores.

I found these recently at HPB. I never knew they made comics based on the Disney World attraction.

I recall buying these as they were released. It seemed so odd at the time that a major license like Disney had gone with such a small publisher like Slave Labor Graphics. Didn't last long, but the books were pretty cool.

Seven issue run and, honestly, not terrible as a light horror series. Obviously, the Roman Dirge covers are also a draw, especially for fans of Lenore. If you're a completionist fan, there's also a red foil variant to #1 which is... not super common, but not that rare. There was also a slipcased hardcover that collected #1-6; I don't believe I've seen a copy. to my knowledge, #7 was never reprinted.

In 2016, Marvel did a 5-issue miniseries for the Haunted Mansion also (gee, I can't imagine why Marvel would get to do Disney stuff... weird!). I haven't read it. It does have "modern cover variant"-itis (there's at least 7 versions of #1, including a Scottie Young cover that I assume is the chase option -- and that's not counting the Halloween ComicFest book that's technically a different title -- even the last issue has four!).

Finally, in 2020, IDW published a standalone 72-page Haunted Mansion graphic novel (I believe technically called Haunted Mansion: Frights of Fancy). I haven't read it either, but based on the art direction, it's definitely more "Disney" and less "horror".

That's a good question. I haven't been able to figure that out, and I also didn't see it mentioned inside the program. No artist mark on the cover that I can see either. I'll check more in depth tomorrow.

Lol that was my first question too, but only after going through Dave Stevens history to see some are programs. When the question popped in the brain here I wrote it off as being too meticulous 😂

But it is a good question ⁉️ ⁉️

I know Jim Lee has done some local programs but his name is everywhere lol

This is a book I never see in the wild in close to a decade of searching. I don't think I even see them at conventions. Once in a while a raw copy might surface on ebay. A few years ago I paid a pretty penny for a raw Eric Powell signed copy on eBay.

Sorry to hear, on the bright side I'm sure they went to good homes!
