Hard for me to get any Planet comics I still need anymore.

But I lucked out at a flea market on Sunday on these. So dirt cheap for such great covers!

Not directly comparable, of course, but the Planet #56 in 8.0 went for $3,056 in the recent CL auction.  I don't think there are any public sales in this grade.

And I regret to say this is one of the issues I "need."  Sigh.

Belongs to a board member. I am very happy for him for the tremendous result, but it means I am very unlikely to be upgrading the copy I have.

I heard that. A quick check on the bay shows one went for like $23. And another went for around $500. Can’t find any other recent sales. Is the high sale just a case of two people duking it out? Just doesn’t make any sense.

Although, a cool cover, I don’t find anything that outstanding about it. There are other covers in that period that are just as good.   (shrug)

All about the female form and the tight black suit she is wearing

Black Amazon and Captives of the Thieve Star appeal to me the most of that group. (are they keepers or perhaps on the move?) I think both are pretty groovy.  Winter 1944 is wild, that creatures arm is wickedly wrong but it is the overall effect that counts of course

I have been wanting to upgrade my Planet #2 for awhile now ( basically since I got it back from CGC) and while I wanted a blue label in grade seeing the price Mike's 6.5 Blue got a month ago I have come to realize I would either have to buy a much lower grade book or get a restored. I was happy to pick this up today.

A relatively muted response - it sold for over 22k! I am not living on the same planet as these collectors - if that's what they are.

High result but the price is for a 1940's golden age book with a classic cover. In light of recent prices for the book in other grades I see it as finally getting its due?
