When I was at SPX a few weeks back, I purchased quite possibly (according to Gilbert Hernandez) the LAST file copies of LOVE AND ROCKETS #1.

 

These are the original first printings from 1981 that they did themselves.

In fact Gilbert even lamented that "You can tell these are original because these couple here don't have staples. We ran out of staples to stitch them together at the end."

And there are only a handful of copies without staples.

 

I wasn't prepared to buy these, I honestly didn't think he'd have this with him.

They were selling a few at SDCC and I suspected those were all Gilbert & Jamie had.

 

Turns out these four are most likely the last.

AND they are true file copies from the Hernandez Brothers themselves.

Never circulated.

 

I've got two 9.0 double signed and two 8.5 double signed coming back this week from CGC.

 

Purchased and signed at SPX on 9/17/16

 

Love and Rockets #1 CGC 9.0 s/s Jamie & Gilbert Hernandez - $1100 (two copies available)

*(one with staples, one w/out staples)

Love and Rockets #1 CGC 8.5 s/s Jamie & Gilbert Hernandez - $895 (two copies available)

*(one with staples, one w/out staples)

 

All four copies have designated WHITE PAGES
