I've been scanning all of my golden age teen comics.  In doing so, I keep getting reminded of all the nice Timely teen covers.  While Patsy Walker was featured in Miss America magazine, Cindy was featured in Junior Miss.  Some of the pre-1949 covers feature some very nice, pretty and detailed artwork and make full use of the cover space for greater visual impact.   Here are some favorites of mine.

Great books lotemo! I only have a few of those. And, with the prices this stuff went for in the Heritage doesn't look like I'm gonna get a lot more...

Junior Miss #29 is my all-time favorite Cindy cover - a true classic!

Beautiful books, lotemo! Looking forward to seeing more :)

great covers, all!

my only real foray into this area was an offshoot of putting together the georgie run [now mostly blown out, as per the norm]--when i was after the painted cover 25, i wondered how many painted timely covers there were, total.  not too many, in fact, and thus that little run had to be assembled.  the georgies are gone, but i'll be holding onto the painted assortment.  with these recent prices i figure they're a pretty good set to keep.

here they are, joined by the latest grab, not painted but a wonderful greytone.

I love the painted covers as well.  That looks like all of them as far as the humor books go.  The Patsy Walker and the Georgie issues are my favorites.    And of course Cindy!

+1 You can always count on Lady to post just draw dropping books!

Hey RM, with the Oscars this weekend how about a subset with movie themed covers? One's like @Mr. Lady Luck Comedy with people waiting online to see a movie, or in a theater and/or classic Hollywood Movie Star photo covershm

i think i like the rainy-day patsy best, tho' georgie's not far behind.  for sheer rarity, it seems the mitzi's romance is near unicorn-status.

Yep.  That one and Junior Miss 35 are the two that I'm missing.
