Earth X, Universe X (vol I and II), Paradise X (vol I and II) [Five volumes] $48 donation gets these, shipped to US address

From early this century, in five volumes, the entire series, basically a long "What If?" scenario played out over more than 42 comics spanning three series, cover prices of these 5 TPBs reprinting the series $135, thicker than an Omnibus though they're only paperbacks.

Some details about the books:

Best suited for the marvel zombies, current through the bronze age, who know the characters and details and can best appreciate this twists and developments of this dystopian scenario of the marvel universe before storylines like "civil war" or "ultimates" made it more common to see less heroic, more dysfunctional and generally more depressing or at least less inspiring views on the nature of comic book heroes (e.g. fat old spiderman and drunk and chubby wolverine). Basically, there's a lot of continuity porn for the Marvel universe circa early 80s..

An interesting read for any true marvel aficionado. Homage to Jack Kirby is obvious (Machine Man/X-51, Wakanda, & Inhumans feature prominently), and it can almost be seen as an end of the marvel universe, tying all his creations and the history together pretty neatly, although not ending particularly Kirbyesque.

Got mixed reviews, especially the sequel(s) - started off great based on Alex Ross outline of ideas published in Wizard, followed by a sketchbook, followed by "Earth X" (first series). Celestials, Galactus, Reed Richards as Eternity, the death of Death, and other inter-galactic trippiness.

See details on large pic of back covers, or just read the Wiki on it:

Great job everyone. It's really never me, and I don't say this lightly.

We beg to differ.
