When I was a kid me and my brother thought:

Romita was Romita with a hit sound for mit,  not 'Romeeta'.

Ross Andru was Ahhndru,  not Andrew. Well, it looked too exotic for plain Andrew. 

Gil Kane was Jill Kane.

And perhaps most embarrassingly of all,  Thor wasn't 'Four' but Tor. 

Even now I still say the wrong sounds in my head but I've conditioned myself not to in public. 

Am I alone (apart from me brother that is)?

"Sienkiewicz" is the one that threw me for a loop as a youngster. It's funny now but I thought it was pronounced "Sign Key Wicks" instead of "Sin Kev Itch"

I still say Mi-jole-ner in my head from all those years of reading it that way. The movies cleared up Me-yole-near a little more for me though.

That one always got me - learned it as "mee-YOL-ner" as a kid, still can't shake that one.

I still say Mi-Jole-nir and I have heard what they say in cartoons and the movies.

Isn't Sub-Mah-Reen-er correct though? I recall seeing it spelled out that way in a comic. Actually I think it was in Submariner #1 from 1968, there was a guy that said it that way.

I remember as a kid arguing with a friend that it was not Mag-net-o but Mag-neet-o and he wouldn't budge. Even after he saw an espisode of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends where Stan Lee clearly pronounced it Mag-neet-o he claimed " Stan's saying it wrong"
