no...once chemicals are used, it will always be "restored" or conserved...no way to "un" clean it

Anyone think that the Action 7 didn't sell up to expectations?  I thought it would go for more.

Any chance the book might have sold for more if the rusty staples had been replaced with clean vintage staples from that same time period.  hm

Of course, the book would then be sitting with a Conserved label, as opposed to a Universal unrestored label.  :frown:

Not if it slipped thru CGC checks. Wouldn't be a first. But always a risk.

Nope.  That's one of the irreversible resto procedures.

Edited to add:  I should have read all the posts -- this was already answered several times!

y'all bid up my g.a. caps tonite!!!

p.s.  15, 35, 56, 65 & 66.

Great books.  I have a feeling the hammer prices will considerably ease the pain of parting with them.

The 6.0 #11 that just sold for 4995 that  hit 6900 a short time later was "weak"?

a 1.8 breaking 2k weak?

i thought both were very strong results

I thought the price action on the bats #11 was strong as well. I had my bid at $1750 for the 1.8 and thought that would be enough to take it. Can't even get my hands on a low grade copy of this lol

I took the 1.8 past 2k bc it looked nicer. Still lost it and I felt I was bidding over retail

I agree, the 1.8 did look nice for the grade. I guess I should have been stronger with my bid. There are 2 restored copies up on eBay but I'd really like a non-restored copy. Hopefully there will be more opportunities for a nice looking low grade copy ?
