Thank you Tomo, I will make sure to keep you in mind as I upgrade issues and look for homes for my undercopies!

Sounds good.  You have a willing customer waiting in your back pocket.

We're closing in on some classic issues...can't wait to see what you got in store for us for 68, 80, 86, 89.

You bring up some great points Ian. I have long thought that Superboy introduced as many or more of the familiar silver age story elements as the Superman titles. Usually if they started in Superboy they would port over to Superman and occasionally the other way around. Let me see if I can name a few. Krypto, red kryptonite, robots, Bizarro all started in Superboy and were then used in Superman. Phantom Zone started in Superman and worked its way back to Superboy. I could probably think of s few more.

by the way, your being modest. You might not have a complete Superboy, but your Adventures are amazing!

Superboy also had the 1st appearance of Mon-El.   Kryptonite Kid (Man), and the Superboy (Superman) Revenge Squad also first appeared in Superboy, if you wanted to start digging a little deeper.

Also, wasn't the Phantom Zone first introduced in Adventure Comics #283, so technically that's another Superboy generated idea.  Unless there's a Phantom Zone reference I'm unaware of.  That issues also boasts a first appearance of General Zod that rivals Darkseid's 1st appearance for "ho-hum" scale.  So throw Phantom Zone criminals to Superboy too?

Here is another one of those OO Superboys from Ted, this one had a back cover tear so I got It on the cheap. Very nice presenting copy. You can't just find these 1957 issues all that easily in nice shape. I think the covers from this time frame for me are what the classic silver age Superboy is all about.

So kryptonite is supposed to be rare, right? Where did Pa Kent get enough of it to build a friggin cage from? And how did he do it anyways? He has a smelting facility and a degree in metallurgy we are not aware of? lol

Superboy 54. Got this copy off of eBay many moons ago. Like the green colors on the book. You realize when you collect an entire series that there are books you don't see very often. I felt that way about this one when I got it.

There's something about green covers on DCs from this era that are particularly appealing to me. They just look really sharp.

Superboy 56. I love love love this book. Early Krypto issue (could be his 4th appearance but I'm not certain). You can always tell his earliest covers because they drew him with a "fleshy" muzzle. It's just a cutesy kind of cover that really captures the charm of the era and the title. I got this nicer-than-it's-grade copy from Ted at Superworld from an OO collection. I have a couple more issues from that same collection, they are really nice books.

Superboy 66. This is kinda a weird cover. I'm not sure what that meat roll is that mom Kent is cooking up but she seems completely unconcerned that in order to gain the powers of a microwave oven, her son went blind.

He3 is another one of those books from Ted. A really nice copy of an incredibly cool cover. Look,at the colors on this book! Anytime you find a D.C. From this time period that looks this good, snatch it up, there are not many out there:

Well, there is not much to really say about 68 that anyone doesn't know. This is the big one. My optinion this book is as important as Action 242. This is a liberated CGC 5.5 copy. In all honesty I wish I had a nicer copy but considering the current price on this book I doubt I will be upgrading it. Got this on eBay years ago:

Superboy 69. I read this story long before I ever owned a copy. Many is these stories, especially any that told some kind of first or untold story, were reprinted in one of the many 80 pagers that came out in the sixties. Remember ole Power Boy from Superboy 52?
