29dukedog
Baker has several romance covers set on beaches. Can anyone list them all? (By my count, there are 7 of them...) Edited September 29, 2017 by 29dukedog

I'm not a GGA guy per se, but Baker's romance covers (which we know are by Baker) are just better IMHO. TAR 14 at #13, ouch... TAR 14 was at 18 for me- I never liked it. sacentaur

29dukedog
Well, I correctly guessed three of the remaining top four. Still not sure if I ranked them correctly...

Having talked with a number of GGA collectors over the years I can comfortably say it's not everyone's #1. Baker or not, the female figure is not as well drawn as on other covers and not everyone likes that particular pornstar pose/body over other depictions of female beauty. I agree with this. I've never liked it. Even if we were certain that Baker penciled the whole thing and did his own inking, I still would have put it near the bottom. The most interesting thing about this book to me is the Wertham/SOTI connection. sacentaur

Is there a copy known to exist with black color touch ... ) When I was a kid in the 1960s, a woman who lived downstairs from us had that sort of white streak in her hair. It was the style apparently, although it always struck me as unappealing -- not as unappealing as the cover to PL 17, though.

Often singled out as one of his best efforts, but I don't see it.
