I left mine quite vague, only because I didn't want to seem picky

Fair enough, it is a tough road to hoe. (thumbsu

I did not get you, but if I had I would want to get you something that you really want. Last year I got someone a 9.4 slab off ebay and he seemed really happy as it was a specific request that he had made. I thought the grade was too low but he was apparently happy with it. That made it a nice gift to give and it felt great knowing for sure that the exact thing I gave was a comic that he had requested. Being collectors we all have such specific expertise of our collecting area that no one but a fellow collector could hope to get us something we would truly want; collecting where every item is a commodity of sorts makes it tricky I know. Anyhoo...

I get what you're saying - you are being incredibly thoughtful by getting someone a thing they truly desire. FZ would be proud.

Myself, I'm happy to recieve something interesting and new. Maybe something I wasn't aware of before. A true surprise.

Not saying you're right or I'm right. Tis the season my friend!:tink:

:tink:    Exactly. And I don't want to harp on the be specific thing as I have no problem getting a more general gift myself. And I should have asked for more Frazetta shirts! wait a minute...

I was simple with my requests as well...hopefully not too simple...i said Batman cause thats what I like. It’s my first year doing this so I wasn’t sure how specific to be...I’d like to be surprised.

I've got Val Kilmer in the trunk of my car now. I should have him shipped out within the week..... Surprise!

Being a 1st timer and basically not knowing anyone. I tried to give multiple areas of preference or likes but nothing specific.  I was on the fence about putting specifics, yes it helps but it also might puts expectations on someone. And I did not want to do that.  There is already enough stress for people at the holidays. I dont want to add to it lol.

As for my person. I was given a general topic. Nothing specific. I am already done shopping. And actually thought about sending gift now so that it can sit there for almost 3 weeks driving them nuts . I hope that my person is not disappointed. I hope to have got something liked, wanted and needed.

Remember not to leave shopping to the last minute, but if you do...  :wishluck:

The Night Before Holiday gift exchange

'Twas the night before gift exchange
and all through the house
not a computer was working,
there clicked not a mouse

The recipients were nestled all snug in their beds
with visions of gifts alive in their heads.
The givers slumped round their screens in despair
and felt that a miracle now would be fair.

Then from the back room there rose such a chatter
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter
and there to my marveling eyes did appear
a wonder assistant shopper with a six pack of beer.

His resume glowed with experience so rare
he turned out great advice with a super shopper's flair.
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
turning impulses into suggestions like a sitcom berserk.

A wink of his eye and a nod of his head
soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
More smoothly than salesmen his suggestions they come;
he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

On comic, on graphic novel, on slab and figurine,
on snail mail, and rush jobs, those packages had sheen.
His eyes all glazed over, hands nimble and lean,
from long days and nights spent in front of a screen.

He tapped and he hammered, nothing did he shirk,
turning dreams into actuality; then he turned with a smirk,
and laying his finger upon enter key,
the gifts lined up and matched perfectly.

The holiday was finished, the mail time limit concluded,
the buyers last minute changes were even included.
Then the receivers explained in apocalyptic tone,
"It’s just what I asked for, as they fell over prone."

I too tried to be more general in my request, asking for something that the buyer thought was cool, more than something I thought was cool.
