Thanks Steve.  Yes I love this stuff too.  It had been a while since I found something cool online.  You know, the way Ross drew that nose is probably more realistic, but I think artistically, I like the one Jim Mooney inked here.

Indeed. That Ross rendered Spidey beak would wear a hole in his mask after a while, wouldn't it

I think Jim Mooney softened the Punisher a little too much.  I like the original pencils better.

Seeing as he has been gone for 15 years, yes, it's too late. 

I liked Mooney's inks over Ross's pencils.

Ken Landgraf posted a few photo copies of Ross Andru's pencils he got back in the day when he worked for Marvel. He posted these over on the Comic Book Historian Facebook group. He shared that Marie Severin made the copies for him to study . He also added that "When I was starting out on my comic book art career photo copies like this were invaluable. I had no idea how a professional comic book page would look like. Marie went out of her way to help me improve."

Who can spot the inking error in that bottom Punisher and Spider-Man panel?  Never noticed it before.

One of my favorite issues.  I may have posted this page before but I am too lazy to go check.  Love the little notes littered all on this page.  That's some cool zip-a-tone work by Dave or Mike.

No idea.  It's got Mirage, who is like a D-List villain, it features the amazing wedding of Ned Leeds and Betty Brant, hmmm.

It does have a cool splash page, but I doubt that's driving the price.

It looks like the last sale in March was a drop from average 2022?

Maybe he meant what's down with 156, but that is a very rare book in 9.8, 20 times graded that, vs 155 times for #157.

Ah, got it.  I don't follow prices so much anymore.  I could see the rarity angle pushing up the price though.  Just a kind of unremarkable issue, IMHO.

156 and 157 are two  beautiful Romita covers. I think I like 156 even more than 157, but back to the Ross Andru talk.
