@Bird Awesome and have a good TIME!

I'd be curious to know the prices comparably on things, such as the statues, this would make an interesting study!

the Yatta in the store title loosely translates to "I did it!"...in Japanese.... I think the .p(I?) is like our .com? or .org?

Yes the.pl is for the Polish Internet I believe

OK the prices you see in the photos are in the Polish currency which is currently about 3.7 for every USD.

I’ll try and shoot some prices on some of the statues when I go back I’m pretty sure they’re closed tomorrow as many things are on Sunday here

It's cool, when you have time and if your going to go back, you've got some prices already posted; unfortunately I don't recognize any of the characters of the statues behind the glass to look them up.....

I was in Poland earlier this week... you had better luck finding something than I did. I spotted a Donald Duck on the newsstand, but not much else.

I’ve been in the Czech Republic since Thursday, where comics are more visible, but I haven’t had a chance to visit any shops... Hopefully next time!

@Bird I heard it before but I am not sure if Maus is still banned in Poland.

I do not know but I will make sure to find out if I can’t find out from the comic shop so I’ll ask my tour guide

Most stores are closed on Sundays but there was a fleamarket and I love me a flea market   There were two stalls with record albums and one used book stall  and besides the books he had some sheet music which they all seem to have any had one box of Polish comics The vendor tried to sell me one for US$10 but I was having none of it even though as he said it was first edition 1985

What was very funny is that he had a harbinger six and two copies of Rai  and the future force nine  they were both very beat up I should’ve asked the price anyway

Thanks so much for posting this.  This may be a silly question but are the trades(Arkham Asylum and Y the last man) in the same standard size as the American counterparts?

Yes they look to be the same size I might go back and buy one of them just to have

I am told that MAUS has never been banned in Poland my tour guide is a sci-fi lady and her friends have copies printed in Polish The Polish hate the Germans and she stated there is no reason that it would ever be banned in Poland

I picked this up today in a bookstore they had a Neil Gaiman shelf and some recent publications mostly marvel like annihilation and such

Interesting, Poles complained about the book portrayed them as Pigs.

home again home again jiggety jig

I had PM'ed at one time with a European collector who said that generic bronze books were hard to find so I had brought about 10 books over to trade or just give to someone who might appreciate them. X-Men 133, 2 copies of Superman 400, an FF (138?), and 5-6 Thor issues with 20 cent or 25 cent cover price I think it was. So I ended up giving them to our tour guide who was a big comic and Sci-fi fan who travels to UK for a lot of shows (she goes to see actors, especially Star Wars). She really lit up when looking them over so I know it was the right choice and I made her promise to pass along at least one to another Polish collector. I gave them to her in the middle of the tour and unbeknownst to me she spent some time searching for some cool Polish comics to give me in return.  She said she was unsuccessful in finding what she wanted so she will send them to me sometime soon. I will post what she sends in this thread if/when they arrive.
