gadzukes
Hooey Annual 11 from 1941. This is a "cartoon magazine". Every page is a full size cartoon (mostly spicy, but a few WWII cartoons). Great image of Hitler on cover getting "goosed". Unfortunately the cover was designed to cut/hinge the gate under Hitler so this one has a big cut in it. If you're a comic book purist you may not want this one, but SUCH a great cover. Mmehdy, pmpknface and Point Five

ft88
Spirit Insert is June 1941 which is pretty early. Story is nuts as well.

I made a few errors on that list and have found several more since then. I am covering the years from 1954 and earlier. Am I missing any covers that you know of that are not on my list below? So far I have found 82 covers. Let me know if I missed any or if you have anything else to add, thanks! West Do you know which book had the first Hitler cover appearance? Is it Cap 1? Up to that point, America had not yet entered the war. Most Americans had come to view Hitler as a bad actor, but there were still enough Americans that liked him that the cover caused a backlash. The mayor of NYC actually offered bodyguards to Simon and Kirby. So Cap 1 might not be the first appearance of Hitler on a comic book cover, but it's gotta be the first in a long line of comic heroes taking shots at him. Hoping someone can fill in the gaps for me here Edited February 16, 2022 by GreatCaesarsGhost

I would therefore think that "first cover appearance of Hitler" to be a worthy note on the CGC label. I'm surprised its not there. I wonder if anyone has pointed this out to CGC. In a related matter, CGC claims MMC 4 is the first time a nazi flag appears on a comic book cover. Is this true? Hasn't it been settled that Top Notch 2 is the first appearance of a nazi symbol on a comic book character(albeit on an airplane wing, not a flag)?
