Going through old family albums I stumbled across this photo of me and my Mom from August 1975. I was 7 years old and obviously far more interested in trying to read my comic (almost certainly Richie Rich) than posing for photos!

Yup that's really a sheet ghost for Halloween.  I was down with it because Charlie Brown did it.  After that it was monster masks bought with lawn mowing money (and my neighbor's shoulder pads), the witch is my sister. Hey I collect horror so its thread-relevant... right?

Further digging unearthed this Halloween photo from 1979 (I was 11 years old). I remember being very proud of this rubber devil mask, which I wore multiple times trick or treating, not only because this photo is from the days when the majority of kids' costumes were a flimsy plastic mask and a matching, highly flammable, plastic poncho but also because that devil mask scared the sh*t out of nearly every other kid collecting candy when I leapt out of the darkness howling at them!

Here I am at the local art show in Inverness Florida around 1979.  I don't recall which book the first drawing was from but Berni Wrightson was huge influence. 

Fun Fact:  The art show was held in front of the Citrus County Courthouse where a few scenes from "Follow That Dream" starring Elvis were filmed.

Awesome photo and artwork! That first drawing looks like it was influenced by HOM #236, one of Wrightson's best!

So a bit of an update with this store. Since posting this she has never really opened fully since covid happened. I am told that she will open only by appointment only and you have to sign an agreement to spend at least $100 or she will not open.

What an awesome photo and memory! The closest I ever got to number four was my Bobby Orr lunchbox. I cried when I was running home from school in grade two, tripped, and broke the thermos.
