I'd agree, but then again AA61 garners more attention so I haven't paid too much attention to this one in a while to know the going rate, but still at 8.5 and a ped at that, 'seems' on the low side.

Regarding the two sales last year of the only two 9.6's , that's quite a big diiference right? Both were graded just a month apart.

Wow, yeah massive difference. I think the Promise copy presents much better, but even with that still HUGE difference!

Wow this book has tanked! Wasn’t it going for $15K+ at one point in a 9.8? I think the movie did well enough, and will definitely see more Shang Chi in future Marvel movies. Don’t understand why it’s gone down soo much.

Just speculating but maybe this might have cooled some of the heat on this book.

I just have a tough time believing that would cause such a slide, but who knows 🤷‍♂️. My personal feeling though, it wasn’t that.

Maybe it's because the movie sucked and underperformed, so while he might remain a character in the MCU he's not going to be a major character.  But probably mostly because there are a zillion 9.8 copies, 90% of which have come out into the market since prices started moving up.

As the great Bruce Banner once said, “I’m not sure the science supports that”. I mean, the rotten tomato numbers are pretty damn high. That’s unobjectionable numbers that people as a whole did not think it sucked. I mean I liked it haha.
 

As far as the numbers go, true it was on the much lower side in box office compared to most of its Marvel counterparts, no denying that. But having come out during a still tough point in the pandemic and I believe it didn’t get shown in China, which is of course a massive box office market, it easily could have done significantly better. So I don’t know, I’m not sure if the box office was as much the reason 🤷‍♂️. But yeah, maybe over saturation of 9.8’s hitting the market post movie diluted it.
