I recently bought a coverless  Showcase Comics #1 with a repro color cover that is in the CGC case with a NG, which is what I think this book in question should be.

It may be just me , but I am surprised that CGC gave this a universal .5 . I know they note it, but with a cover less that has a color copy cover that has Logo and superman image cut from original and taped to copy as well as tape on centerfold,  How is this not restored or conserved ? Since it seems the debate about CGC's assessment of this one is debatable let's add another CGC Superman #1 to the mix this one is a SS 9.0 labeled as an original Summer 1939 , although clearly the 1999 masterpiece reprint, but not noted by CGC. 

Sure hope my two Masterpiece Editions come back Universal Summer 1939. I would treasure them forever!

If I'm buying a coverless Superman 1 I really want to see the splash page, and the spine, and the staple area.  It's all completely hidden by the repro cover.

I understand what the owner was trying, but it doesn't work for me.

I would agree. That said there were only two I would have ever let sign any superman #1 or action comics #1 original and it would have been on the first page. The late Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.. Neither of which were alive for the Signature Series.  Although the reprint I am more apt to allow signatures as most were printed in such large numbers.  I do have a masterpiece edition signed by the late Noel Neill "Lois Lane" although looking back wish I had other books with me or purchased something else. Still I wanted something signed by her and this was what I had.

Put that in your Registry set and crush everyone!!! The points table for Superman 1 9.0 Sig Series is 300,000 points 😂

I really detest people putting color copies on books especially when they get graded.  IMO, they should get rejected and not even be graded.

I would agree, but sold on ebay about a year ago. I just wasn't going to spend $1000 on it when I picture was free.

I also looked at that and CGC must have realized it as they moved it in the registry after the seller sold it on ebay. It was there when he had it listed , but is no longer on there.
